Objectives

The Bangladesh Summit on Sustainable Development 2016 will provide the opportunity to find out the pathways to attain the sustainable development goal more comprehensively. This event will enable the participants to collectively explore the approaches to be adopted by the developing countries for achieving SDGs and discuss the options for confronting with new and emerging development constraints. In addition, the conference will be a space for peer-learning so that concerned actors can take the responsibility to face the development challenges for achieving the SDGs Goals for next 15 years (2016-2030).

Expected Outcomes

Although the summit will embrace all the relevant issues of sustainable growth, it is expecting to produce following five key outcomes.

  • To set recommendations for the monitoring tools for the progress of sustainable development
  • To define plan of action for sharing knowledge, best practices and exchange technology at national, regional and global level
  • To develop framework for multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholders engagement at planning process, implementation system to ensure using  cost effective  environmental solutions and avoiding duplication
  • To advocate for policy changing by citizen participation including marginalize, under privilege, indigenous and disable people
  • To make a linkage between  community people, civil society, academia, media and journalists for mainstreaming the targets and ensure the success of upcoming sustainable development goals
  • To develop partnership between local, regional and global civil societies, government and private sectors for equity basis resource mobilization, institution development.
